Morris’ goal has always been to make it possible for millions of people to experience the wonders of the outdoors. The museum and aquarium pay homage to the sportsmen and women of today and tomorrow with the knowledge that the surest way to preserve our rich outdoor heritage is to expose more people to its awe-inspiring beauty.

“Johnny Morris and Bass Pro Shops have helped lead conservation movements across the country, as well as here in Florida,” said Eric Eikenberg, CEO of The Everglades Foundation. “He has now created a fascinating and immersive experience that, not only showcases marine and land animals, but also their role and place in their unique habitats.”

The museum opened its door in the late afternoon for an exclusive VIP preview tour, followed by a dinner reception and ribbon cutting ceremony, where Morris gave special recognition to Bass Pro Shops’ conservation partners, including The Everglades Foundation.

“The Everglades Foundation is proud to be conservation partner of Bass Pro Shops, as we advance the restoration efforts of America’s Everglades,” explained Eikenberg. “On behalf of Marshall Field V and The Foundation’s Board of Directors, I congratulate Johnny Morris on the grand opening of Wonders of Wildlife.”

The night was filled with honorable guests, including former Presidents Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush, U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, actor Mark Wahlberg, and concluded with performances by popular artists such as Luke Bryan, Kevin Costner and Kid Rock.
