Editorial: Could back-pumping worsen Lake ‘O pollution?

South of Lake Okeechobee, water has been flowing the wrong way. Of course, “wrong” is a loaded term, and state water managers and many others will insist that given the record June rainfall, back-pumping water from shallow reservoirs north into the lake rather than sending it south into already-flooded water conservation areas was not only “right” — it’s imperative.
