Everglades Benefit 2009Science, celebrity and syncopated rhythms were showcased on Friday, February 13, 2009, at the fourth annual Everglades Foundation Benefit which was held at a new location -- the oceanfront Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. In addition, multiple Grammy award-winning recording artist Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine were the event’s musical entertainment. The Benefit’s special honoree was South Florida writer and journalist, Carl Hiaasen, the best-selling author of Striptease, Hoot and other Florida-based novels. |
