Write to Your County Commissioner
|
One of the pillars of informed public policy is communication with elected officials. We encourage you to inform and make your views known to the local county officials who represent you. Joining with thousands of other supporters of Everglades restoration through letter writing, phone call and and e-mail campaigns remain some of the most effective forms of advocacy and activism. To get started, click on the “Participate” button above and select the appropriate county official from the list that is presented. You can now express your views on Everglades restoration directly to the county representatives who are in the best position to provide support. You have the option to send letters to the entire county commission of each county in the 16-county South Florida Water Management District or to each individual commissioner. This form lists the individual counties first then lists the individual commissioners. Thanks to your efforts, it is possible to convince elected officials that restoration of America’s Everglades is critically important to creating and sustaining jobs, protecting a valued water supply, providing recreational opportunities and contributing to the overall quality of life. |
