Internships

 

The Everglades Foundation internships are available in a range of topics related to Everglades restoration. Interns interested in Everglades restoration will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with an experienced scientist, engineer, or planner on a variety of topics, including field investigations in hydrology, ecology and water quality in the Everglades, scientific/technical analyses related to the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, and policy and advocacy of Everglades restoration.


New internship positions - 2012:

SCIENCE INTERNS

Several paid internship positions will be available at the Everglades Foundation in 2012.
This year, we are looking for assistance in the areas of:

(1)    Climate change and sea-level rise impacts on coastal Everglades wetlands

(2)    Benefits of Everglades restoration on water quality and habitat in Florida Bay

(3)    Canal impacts on water quality in the Everglades

(4)    Nutrient budget analysis in the Everglades.

For projects (1) and (2), ecological background and statistics skills are necessary. These projects also involve some field work. For projects (3) and (4), background in water quality modeling, GIS and statistics is required.

These internship positions will be offered for a graduate or a post-graduate student. The intern will work from the Everglades Foundation offices located in Palmetto Bay, FL.
