On November 9, 2016, The Everglades Foundation honored the ambassadors, donors and volunteers of the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation for the Everglades, while celebrating the success of the summer internship program.

Nancy Marshall, president of the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation for the Everglades, thanked participants for their good work for the Everglades as the Marshall Foundation transitions its key programs to the Everglades Foundation.

“We are extremely thankful and grateful for all the support the Marshall Foundation has received and ask that everyone ‘stick with us’ on this journey, through the John Marshall Everglades Legacy, which will be administered by The Everglades Foundation,” said Marshall “Educating the next generation of environmental stewards is essential to restoring and preserving the Everglades.”

Dr. Tom Van Lent, vice president for programs and director of science and policy of The Everglades Foundation, then spoke, where he detailed the late John Marshall’s perseverance and asked all attending to continue to help “to keep pushing the boulder uphill” regarding Everglades preservation.
