GREGORY HAILE, J.D.

BOARD MEMBER

Gregory Haile is the president of Broward College, which serves more than 55,000 students with approximately 4,500 colleagues. In January 2023, Haile became the first education leader to serve as deputy Chair of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank in approximately 70 years. He serves as chair of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, and – in addition to serving on the board of The Everglades Foundation – serves on the boards of Florida TaxWatch, BBX Capital, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Achieving the Dream, the Broward Workshop and the United Way of Broward County. Mr. Haile is a member of the Orange Bowl Committee and the Council on Foreign Relations, and has twice received appointments by Governor Ron DeSantis: to the Department of Education Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee, and to the Re-Open Florida Task Force. Mr. Haile annually teaches a summer course in Higher Education Law and Policy at Harvard. He previously served as an adjunct professor with Broward College, teaching Business Law and Ethics, and with Miami-Dade College, teaching Business Law. He was educated at the Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He received his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Nova Southeastern University, and is also a fellow of the Vanderbilt University Higher Education Management Institute.
