Today, the Everglades Foundation is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a $1 million gift from Enterprise Holdings founder Jack Taylor and his family, who own and operate the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.

As the only science-based non-profit working to restore America’s Everglades, our science team is at the forefront in protecting this unique ecosystem and water supply for nearly eight million Floridians.

We are focused on the implementation of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP). CERP, signed into law in 2000, calls for the construction of multiple projects that will restore America’s Everglades for generations to come; and, we are leading a three-year effort to develop an End Point Restoration Plan.  Taking CERP as the guide, our hydrologists, wetlands ecologists and water quality scientists will be demonstrating the impact of specific projects, with finite dollars over a recommended timeline to forecast restoration completing in a timely manner.

With the Taylor family’s extraordinary gift and commitment to protecting this national treasure, we are one step closer to restoring America’s Everglades.
