Restoring America’s Everglades will reinstate a vital flow of clean freshwater south from Lake Okeechobee, restoring the River of Grass, enhancing the drinking water supply for the region’s growing population, and mitigating climate change. As the water is cleansed and redirected to the south, it will also reduce the need for damaging discharges to coastal communities, resulting in estuarine habitat improvement and increased property values.
America’s Everglades is a global treasure that belongs to each of us. Florida’s real estate will continue to rely on a healthy Everglades through this century and beyond. We must continue to drive the momentum behind Everglades restoration to benefit the real estate and other industries that are crucial to Florida’s 21st century economy and to every Floridian.
