Director of Marketing & Communications
Before joining the Everglades Foundation, Rebecca Rose spent the past 12 years working for the federal government at an array of agencies. She has addressed issues ranging from defense, medicine, criminal and civil law enforcement, finance, and clean energy – all the way to science and technology. Most recently she served as Vice President of Communications for the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank).
Prior to coming to EXIM Bank, Rebecca was Deputy Communications Director for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy, where she led a team of 20 plus geographically dispersed employees and managed a $5 million budget to develop and execute a strategic communication and outreach plan for a $5 billion clean energy technology portfolio.
Previously, Rebecca served as Communications and Engagement Advisor for the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Communications Manager for the SEC’s National Exam Program, a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist at the Drug Enforcement Administration, Press Officer and Social Media Manager at the Department of the Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery; and Deputy Public Affairs Officer for Naval Station Rota, Spain.
Rebecca serves on the executive board of Young Government Leaders, the only 501(c)3 non-profit professional organization founded and led by young government employees, which aims to educate, inspire, and transform the current and future leaders of government.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from the University of Mary Washington and a Master of Human Relations degree from the University of Oklahoma.
