Hi, My name is Renan Santos, and I am an Economics student at Florida Gulf Coast University. This summer, I am working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the FGCU Regional Economic Research Institute, contributing to projects related to the Clean Water Economy, the economic contribution of water industries, and the value of environmental amenities.

Originally from Brazil, I became interested in economics through a curiosity about how people make decisions and the many factors that shape those choices. Beyond academics, I enjoy learning languages, traveling, and experiencing different cultures and perspectives. Through my research, I hope to better understand the connection between environmental quality and economic outcomes, helping support informed decisions that benefit both communities and natural resources.
