PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Driven by science, The Everglades Foundation takes a powerful and strategic policy approach to advance the restoration and protection of America’s Everglades.

The Foundation works to ensure that the Central Everglades Planning Project, including the vital Everglades Agricultural Area Reservoir, is constructed on an expedited schedule. To accomplish this goal, the Foundation:  ​

• Collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders to build consensus on short- and long-term policies 

• Guides and informs governmental decision-making at the federal, state, and local level 

• Monitors and participates in implementation activities of Everglades restoration projects 

​

The Foundation engages, educates, and activates the public to advance the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan and other important issues in the Greater Everglades ecosystem. The Foundation: 

​

• Engages diverse stakeholders and highlights the value of these projects to them and their communities

• Connects Everglades experts with community members and groups 

• Participates in local initiatives to strengthen support for restoration and protection of the Everglades
