Project: The effects of Biscayne Bay Coastal Wetlands Project on mangroves, periphyton, and soil.

Sanjay Pooran is a freshman at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. My passion for science began in childhood through exploration of the natural world. I have fond memories of going out into the snow to observe deer passing through from a distance. Through meaningful experiences with many of my science teachers, I developed a strong interest in the field.

My primary goal is to inspire the next generation of scientists, just as I was inspired. This motivation has guided my current path in Environmental Science, with the intention of becoming a teacher in the future.
