Love Kumar, PhD
Hydrologist
Science
As a Hydrologist in the Science department at The Everglades Foundation, Love supports Everglades restoration through hydrologic modeling, scientific analysis, and evaluation of restoration scenarios. His work focuses on understanding hydrologic processes and ecosystem responses to inform effective restoration strategies.
Love has experience in hydrology, water resources management, and ecosystem restoration. Prior to joining the Foundation, he worked as a Water Resources Engineer at the Illinois State Water Survey at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he led hydrologic and hydraulic modeling studies focused on flood risk, river systems, and watershed dynamics. He has also worked with WWF, advancing water conservation initiatives, and supporting sustainable water management and policy development.
Love holds a Ph.D. in Soil, Water, and Ecosystem Science, along with master’s degrees in environmental engineering and management. His Ph.D. research examined hydrology and water chemistry of river-floodplain systems, including sloughs along the large river coastal system.
