In this edition, we feature the ceremonial signing of the Legacy Florida legislation and highlight some of our education and outreach efforts, including a reception that we had to celebrate our 2016 summer interns and honor the new John Marshall Everglades Legacy Fund, created by the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation and the Everglades Foundation, which will endow funding for education programs in the future.
Additionally, in this edition, we spotlight the George Barley Water Prize, “Florida Coastal Communities in Crisis” by Everglades Foundation Scientist Dr. Stephen Davis and Florida’s First Lady Ann Scott, who joined over a dozen other women leaders in the Everglades for a look at the progress of Everglades restoration.
