Palmetto Bay, Fla. – The Everglades Foundation today released the following statement, attributed to its CEO Eric Eikenberg, regarding Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ State of the State address, which highlighted his steadfast leadership on Everglades restoration.
“Governor DeSantis has made more progress on Everglades restoration than any other Governor, and this year’s State of the State address would not have been complete without highlighting the significant progress that has been achieved on restoring the Everglades under his leadership.
“From securing record funding throughout his terms as Governor to accelerating timelines and leading on restoration, Governor DeSantis has delivered on his promises and been a tireless champion for America’s Everglades.
“It is because of this that we’re seeing the crown jewel – the EAA Reservoir – of Everglades restoration set to be completed and delivered five years ahead of schedule.
“Real results are already being seen from this progress, and Florida, which relies on the Everglades and clean water to power its economy, will continue to thrive because of all the Governor has achieved.”
