Palmetto Bay, Fla. – The Everglades Foundation today released the following statement, attributed to its CEO Eric Eikenberg, on the groundbreaking of the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir Inflow Pump Station.
“Today’s event – the groundbreaking of the EAA Reservoir Inflow Pump Station – was made possible because of the state’s leadership on restoring America’s Everglades, a $1-trillion asset, and the strategic partnership that was made with the federal government to expedite the construction of the EAA Reservoir by 2029.

“Since taking office, Governor Ron DeSantis has tackled the largest restoration project head-on, making historic progress toward its completion. Today, we’re seeing another milestone reached ahead of schedule.
“Floridians and the great state of Florida will be able to see the ultimate completion of Everglades restoration far ahead of schedule – a feat that will preserve the ecological and economic benefits of the Everglades for years to come.”
