Regarding the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government’s Budget Recommendations

Tallahassee, Fla. – The Everglades Foundation released the following statement today, attributed to its CEO Eric Eikenberg, in regards to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government’s budget recommendations.

“The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government today released its budget recommendations, including $70 million for Everglades Restoration. On behalf of the Everglades Foundation, we are extremely pleased with this recommendation, and thank Chair Alan Hays and members of the Senate subcommittee for their resolute commitment to preserving and protecting America’s Everglades.

As these budget recommendations continue to move through the process, we encourage the members in the House and leaders in both chambers to support this allocation amount, so that America’s Everglades can continue to be preserved and protected for the 7.5 million Floridians who rely on it for their daily drinking water and as a symbol of Florida’s unique natural beauty.”
