HELP US PROTECT A GLOBAL TREASURE
The Everglades provides drinking water to 9 million Floridians, habitat to nearly 2,000 species of plants and animals – more than 70 of which are federally threatened or endangered – and includes four national parks.
The Everglades Foundation is devoted to restoring and protecting America’s Everglades through science, advocacy, and education. We work tirelessly to secure the funding needed to:
-
Modernize South Florida’s outdated water infrastructure
-
Restore the flow of desperately needed clean water south to the Everglades and Florida Bay
-
Reduce harmful discharges of toxic algae and other pollutants to coastal estuaries
BY SENDING WATER SOUTH WE:
-
Eliminate harmful discharges of contaminated water to the coastal estuaries
-
Mitigate the impacts of climate change – such as sea level rise and saltwater intrusion
-
Rehydrate the Everglades habitats that support an abundance of biodiversity
-
Protect your water
