The Reservoir

Located in The Everglades Agricultural Area, also known as the EAA. This project is a critical piece of infrastructure to the state of Florida..

The Size

Combined with its stormwater treatment areas or STAs, this reservoir stands at 17,000 acres.

Larger than the island of Manhattan which stands at 14,528 acres.

How It Works

This reservoir stores excess water from Lake Okeechobee - cleans it in an adjacent stormwater treatment area ( STA ), and then sends it south through The Everglades and into Florida Bay.
