“The Everglades Foundation applauds the Trump Administration’s announcement of more than $2 billion in funding to accelerate completion of the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir.”

“Today’s announcement is a powerful continuation of President Trump’s support for Everglades restoration dating back to his first term,” said Eric Eikenberg, CEO of The Everglades Foundation. “President Trump has consistently recognized that restoring America’s Everglades is not only an environmental imperative, but a matter of national economic importance, flood protection, and water security for millions of Americans.”

"The EAA Reservoir will store, clean and send up to 120 billion gallons of freshwater south annually to the Everglades and Florida Bay, while protecting the coastal estuaries from toxic discharges. We are thrilled that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Jacksonville District is on track to complete construction of the EAA Reservoir by 2029."

“The restoration of America’s Everglades is a national example of what works” Eikenberg added. When strong federal and state leadership are focused on delivery, we can protect and restore this $1 trillion dollar asset."

"America’s Everglades continuous to be a unifying issue and we thank President Trump, Governor Ron DeSantis, and the bipartisan Florida Delegation, including the Everglades caucus co-chairs Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz for their continued leadership.”
