Everglades Foundation Applauds DeSantis SFWMD Appointments

February 21st, 2019. PALMETTO BAY, Fla. – Everglades Foundation CEO Eric Eikenberg issued the following statement in response to Governor Ron DeSantis’ appointments to the governing board of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD):
“We applaud Governor DeSantis’ appointments to the SFWMD governing board: Charlette Roman of Marco Island, Cheryl Meads of Islamorada, Charlie Martinez of Miami, and Jacqui Thurlow-Lippisch of Stuart. The Governor has put together a diverse cross-section of local governments, business leaders and friends of the environment who will act as concerned and committed stewards of our water and natural resources. We look forward to working with this new board to protect and restore America’s Everglades.
