March 13, 2026 - Official statement on Urban Development Boundary decision during Florida's legislative session by The Everglades Foundation CEO Eric Eikenberg

“The Everglades Foundation is thankful that the Urban Development Boundary, which protects America’s Everglades, was preserved this legislative session. Thank you to Senators Ileana Garcia, Alexis Calatayud, and Ana Maria Rodriguez for working to defend the UDB and prevent weakening it. The boundary is not only important to safeguard our one-of-a-kind Everglades but also protect Miami-Dade’s economy, Floridians’ water supply and our state’s resilience.”
